Customers for Hawarden Bridge are advised to walk the approximately 0.6 miles along National Cycle Route 5 to Shotton station and use the rail replacement bus point there near Riverside URC Church.

Step free access to Platform 2 (to Wrexham) though a gate which opens outwards off Chester Millennium Greenway path. Platform width is narrow in parts which may be unsuitable for wheelchair or scooter-users.
