How do I get a discount code?
- Head to the sign up page
- Don't forget to tick the "I'd like to receive emails" box if you'd like to hear more from Northern
- Enter your details
- You'll then be sent an email with your unique discount code
- Download the Northern app on Android or Apple
- Enter the following details into the search screen:
- Your origin (your starting station)
- Your destination (where are you heading?)
- Select a single journey
- Choose the date and time you want to travel
- Add your promo code
- Hit the "search live times and prices" button
- Select the time you want to travel
- Look out for the piggy bank symbol - that means the promo has been applied
- Go through the booking process and buy your selected ticket

I'm seeing a "Promotion not applied" message?
This can mean a number of things.
Please check the following requirements:
- Are you searching for a Northern train route?
- Are you searching for a route that has Advance tickets available?
- Check the tool above if you're unsure which Advance routes run via your station

- Valid for one transaction only
- Up to two children under the age of 5 years may travel free with each adult that holds a Qualifying Ticket.
