Step Free Access
- Category B Station
The station forecourt/car park slopes steeply upwards from its entrance at the junction of Market street and Reservoir Road. Access to the Buxton platform is step-free via a tarmac footpath along the front of the station building to a gate onto the platform, or via 10 steps up to the ticket office then one step down onto the platform. Step-free access to the Manchester platform is via a sloping path from Station View and through a gate onto the platform. A stepped footbridge connects the two platforms. However there is a large gap between the train and platform on both platforms.

Step Free Access
Category - B
"Л"Л"Л"Л"Л"Л"ЛThere is level access to Platform 1 (for trains towards Nottingham) from the car park. Step-free access to Platform 2 is available via a level crossing. Access from the level crossing to Platform 2 is via a path and short ramp at a gradient of approx. 1:8. Direct access to Platform 1 from the level crossing is also via a short steep ramp, but this can be avoided via the street.
Regarding the above, the level crossing is inaccessible and requires the manual opening of gates and use of a telephone before crossing, this is not suitable for wheelchair use or if a customer is not able to access gates and use a telephone. The crossing is an uneven surface.
The route to the level crossing is not suitable for wheelchairs or those with a mobility disability and will likely be slippery during winter weather.
This station has tactile paving at the edge of each platform.
