- Category B Station
The station forecourt/car park slopes steeply upwards from its entrance at the junction of Market street and Reservoir Road. Access to the Buxton platform is step-free via a tarmac footpath along the front of the station building to a gate onto the platform, or via 10 steps up to the ticket office then one step down onto the platform. Step-free access to the Manchester platform is via a sloping path from Station View and through a gate onto the platform. A stepped footbridge connects the two platforms. However there is a large gap between the train and platform on both platforms.

Outside of these hours it is recommended that customers use Broxbourne (6 miles north) for trains to Cambridge and Stansted Airport. Tottenham Hale (6 miles south) for London.
