Newcastle to Morpeth/Chathill and Hexham/Carlisle September 2024
Routes north of Newcastle - service changes on weekends in September.
To allow engineering work to take place, the railway line between Newcastle and Morpeth / Chathill and Hexham / Carlisle will be closed on 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 & 29 September.
A rail replacement bus service will run in lieu of a train service on these dates.
Journeys between Newcastle to Morpeth & Chathill, also Berwick-upon-Tweed & Edinburgh
Northern
Buses replace trains between Newcastle, Cramlington, Morpeth, Alnmouth & Chathill.
If you are travelling to or from Manors, use local Metro Coast services to and from Central station.
LNER, TransPennine Express and CrossCountry
Buses replace trains between Newcastle, Morpeth, Alnmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Reston, Dunbar & Edinburgh Waverley - please check carefully as not all buses will call at all stations.
LNER will continue to run a direct train service between Edinburgh, Newcastle and London by running via Carlisle.
Lumo
There will be no service between Newcastle and Edinburgh. Services will still run between Newcastle and London.

A revised timetable will be in operation on this route, please check your train times carefully. This is to allow LNER to run services between Edinburgh, Newcastle and London via Carlisle and Hexham.
