Liverpool Lime Street station manager nominated for top rail industry award

The station manager at Liverpool Lime Street responsible for Northern services has been nominated for a top rail industry award.

Charlotte Touhey (26), from Warrington in Cheshire, has been shortlisted for the Young Rail Professional title in the SPOTLIGHT Rail Awards 2025.

She has been Northern’s manager at the Merseyside station since 2021 and is responsible for 260 services per day.

Craig Harrop, regional director for Northern in the North West, said: “Charlotte is a huge asset for Northern in the city and a great member of the regional leadership team.

“This nomination will come as no surprise to anyone that works with Charlotte or knows her in the industry.”

The SPOTLIGHT Rail Awards recognise excellence in the rail industry. They showcase the innovative practices and outstanding contributions that drive the industry forward.

Charlotte will find out if she has picked up the award at a ceremony in London on Thursday, 20 March. For more information, visit: spotlightrailawards.com.

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
