Northern to attend job fairs to attract new talent to the railway
Northern, which is the biggest train operator in the north of England and the second largest in the country employs more than 7,000 people and has vacancies in a variety of roles from working on trains, at stations, in maintenance depots and in back offices.
Jobfair.com which organise the recruitment shows are expecting up to 2,000 hopefuls to attend each fair in search of a new and rewarding career.
Northern regularly recruits for train drivers, conductors, station colleagues, engineers and support roles and is encouraging candidates to attend and find out what roles might be available and what it is like to work on the railway.

The first set of job fairs in the north will take place at;
- Manchester - Old Trafford Football Ground – Thursday 25th January
- Liverpool - Anfield Football Stadium – Friday 26th January
- Leeds – Headingley Stadium – Wednesday 7th February
Northern will attend further fairs in Blackburn, Blackpool, Bradford, Hull, Newcastle, Sheffield and York later on in the year.
