Northern confirms new timetable that will come into effect next month and urges regular customers to re-check journey times

In line with other train operators, Northern’s new timetable comes into effect next month with some significant changes to service times and stopping points.

The timetable changes from Sunday, 11 December and all customers, especially those who have made regular journeys on the same train times, are advised to check online journey planners before they travel to ensure their service operates at the same time and calls at the same stations.

Northern’s new timetable will see the introduction of new services as well as small changes to many existing services. These may include departure and arrival times and/or changes to stopping points on the journey. Therefore, customers should refer to online journey planners for these changes as their regular journey may be impacted.

Northern’s services link some 520 stations across 3,000 km of track.

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK. It is owned by Northern Trains Ltd, a subsidiary of the Department for Transport’s public sector owning group, DfT OLR Holdings Limited (DOHL) which took on the operation of Northern services on 1 March 2020.
