Northern goes in to bat for The Ashes this weekend: Extra trains to run fans to Headingley

Train operator, Northern has boosted its services for customers travelling to and from Headingley for The Ashes this weekend. 

The third Ashes test match will be played over five days at Headingley stadium where England will meet Australia - the current holders. 

Northern is running four extra services a day between Leeds and Headingley over the weekend and three extra services on Monday, 10 July. Services will call at Burley Park and Headingley before terminating at Horsforth.   

Tony Baxter, regional director at Northern, said: “We’re pleased to be able to offer these extra services and to be able to support The Ashes and our customers looking to enjoy the cricket this weekend.   

“Services may be busy, so we’re asking our customers to plan their journey ahead of time.”
