Northern to mark sixth anniversary of Manchester Arena bombing
The Railway Chaplain will offer a short prayer at the memorial for the victims’ families and survivors. Flowers will also be laid throughout the day.
Northern will also observe a minute’s silence at 10.31pm - the exact time of the attack.
Chris Jackson, regional director at Northern said: “On Monday, we will pay our respects once more to those who lost their lives in the attack on Manchester Arena. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the tragedy and especially with the families and friends of those who lost loved ones.
The area near to Soldiers’ Gate inside Manchester Victoria Station, which is managed by Northern, is a permanent memorial to those who lost their lives at the arena.
Visitors to the station will also have a place to reflect at a bench and blossom tree which was installed at Soldier’s Gate in 2021. Candles will also be available for people to light.
On Sunday 21 May, Northern’s new summer timetable comes into effect and all customers, especially those who have made regular journeys on the same train times, are advised to check before they travel. For more information, visit: www.northernrailway.co.uk/timetablechange
