Despite facing competition from 430 community rail partnerships nationally and 201 entries, Northern colleagues walked away with 13 top three placings
The awards were set up to recognise innovative and impressive community rail projects, events and schemes, with this year’s event hosted by East Midlands Trains at The Roundhouse, Derby.
Northern successes on the night were:
- Small Projects Award (under £500): Mytholmroyd Station Partnership (1st); Friends of Hindley Station (2nd)
- It’s Your Station: Gold Winner: Friends of Hindley Station
- Outstanding Volunteers Contribution: Sheila Davidson, Friends of Hindley Station (1st); Tim Owne, Lakes Line and Furness Line CRPs (2nd)
- ACoRP award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Rail: Community Rail Cumbria (PICTURED)
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Professor Paul Salveson MBE
- Involving Diverse Groups: Community Rail Cumbria (2nd)
- Community Art Schemes: Friends of Buxton Station (2nd)
- Best Community Engagement Event: Community Rail Cumbria (3rd)
- Best Marketing/Communications Campaign: Community Rail Lancashire (3rd)
- Innovation in Community Rail: Community Rail Cumbria – Mail Room Millom Station (3rd)
- Photo Competition: Friends of Heaton Chapel – Brownies helping Friends of Heaton Chapel (3rd)
