The train operator is providing free use of Eaglescliffe station car park for all competitors and supporters on the day of the event later this month.
Those taking part in the five mile race can also travel for free from Eaglescliffe station to Thornaby station.
Runners should register at The Locomotion pub nearby and leave their vehicle at Eaglescliffe station before taking the train to Thornaby.
It is then a short walk over Thornaby bridge to the starting line. The race route will take them back to the finish line at The Locomotion.
The Locomotion Charity Run has been organised by the Orchard Eagles Running Club and The Locomotion Pub, in Eaglescliffe, to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance and will take place on September 25th.
Celebrating North East Engineering history, the Locomotion Charity Run has a choice of 2 routes (10 miles or 5 miles) along the original railway route of the Stockton and Darlington Railway.

Northern is the second largest train operator in the country, with nearly 2,000 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
