Northern and BTP to launch Christmas initiative

Northern and British Transport Police have joined forces to send a clear message to Manchester’s Christmas revellers – don’t end up on the naughty list this year.

Aiming to tackle drunken and anti-social behaviour, the train operator and police force will refuse travel to anyone deemed too drunk. People may also find themselves asked to leave stations in the city centre if they cause trouble for rail staff.

Liam Sumpter, regional director at Northern, and Chief Inspector Andrea Graham, of BTP, will be at Manchester Victoria on Monday 6 November to launch the initiative and will also be available for photos and interviews.
