Engineering and planned disruptions to travel between 02 and 05 June 2022

Essential engineering works are being delivered over the Jubilee holiday weekend, severely impacting journeys across the Northern network, especially in the Manchester area.

We advise customers to check their journey close to the time of travel, as short notice cancellation may occur.

Travelling to or from Manchester Victoria?

If you’re travelling to/from Manchester and your journey involves travelling through Manchester Victoria, you’re advised to check before you travel as the lines between Salford Central, Manchester Victoria and Rochdale / Stalybridge will be closed from Friday 03 until Sunday 05 June.

Buses replace trains between:

  • Wigan Wallgate and Kirkby
  • Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge.

Buses replace trains between:

  • Wigan Wallgate and Kirkby
  • Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge
  • Manchester Victoria and Salford Central
  • Manchester Victoria and Rochdale (direct and all stations via Moston).

 

In addition to the above buses running:

  • Manchester Victoria to Chester via Warrington Bank Quay and peak-time services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria will not run
  • All South Manchester services (services to/from Manchester Piccadilly including to/from Manchester Airport) – due to major work on the signalling system, which requires the signalling system to be turned off, there will be no train services running in the South Manchester area between 0001 and 0700 and limited rail replacement will run.

 

Buses replace trains between:

  • Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge
  • Manchester Victoria and Salford Central
  • Manchester Victoria and Rochdale (direct and all stations via Moston).

 

In addition to the above buses running, the Manchester Victoria to Chester via Warrington Bank Quay and peak-time services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria will not run
